Mommy's Little Helpers

Yesterday morning, my kids were playing downstairs with their new smoothie makers that Grandma Laurie brought them, so I hurried upstairs to get Tanner some clean clothes and a bottle. As I walked down the stairs, I could see three sets of anxious, mischievous eyes watching me. I walked into the room and it was completely covered with baby wipes. My kids had emptied two full tubs of wipes and had been cleaning my walls, couches, toys etc. with them! After all this time, I still can't believe how quickly they can get into trouble! What one doesn't think of, the other one does! They were trying to help me clean my house ... how can you get upset about that?!?

Then this morning I told my kids we could go outside as soon as I got Tanner bathed and dressed. I told them to come upstairs and help me so we could hurry. I set Tanner on the floor in my room and started running his bath water. Carter came in a minute later and was telling me that Tanner was poopy. I heard him, but wasn't really paying attention to what he was telling me. I walked back into my room to find my baby completely naked with a poopy diaper lying next to him! Luckily I had set him on a blanket because it was soaking wet and covered in poop! Next time I'll be a little more specific when I ask them to come and help!

Outside Fun

Ready, Set, Go... The kids loved watching the Olympics!

We got the kids a swing set this summer and it has been a lifesaver! They love it!

Hogle Zoo

Every Fourth of July we take a trip up to McCall, Idaho to spend a few days camping, water skiing, playing tennis, eating milk shakes (if you ever go, you HAVE to go to My Father's Place for a fresh strawberry milkshake) and playing Pinochle. This year we weren't able to make it with Tanner in the hospital, so we took the kids to Hogle Zoo instead.

Carter insists on putting his sunglasses on himself.

Brock LOVES Panda Bears!

Carter LOVED this Polar Bear.

Well, it was no McCall, but the kids sure had a good time! They're still talking about their trip to the "zoom".

Nothin' Like Spring Skiing (and Golfing)

So I realized the other day that most (okay all) of my posts have been about my kids. Believe it or not, Aaron and I do get out of the house to do things for ourselves sometimes too and here are some pictures to prove it! I know I'm way behind on my posting, so please be patient while I do a little catching up. Below are pictures from Aaron's May ski/golf day. We had so much snow this winter that Snowbird was still open in late May. I don't have any pictures of them golfing, but they did go straight from the slopes to the greens.

Aaron and our friend Kris showing that the temperature outside was 65-70 degrees!

Aaron is an excellent skiier. I'm not in the pictures because I wasn't able to go that day, but even if I had I still would not be in them because I'd probably still be at the top of the hill adjusting my boots and gloves.

Aaron and Kris saw a HUGE skiier going down the hill in front of them and were curious, so they followed him down. When they got to the bottom they realized it was Mark Eaton (former player for the Utah Jazz.) Mark was gracious enough to stop for a quick picture.

Tanner is Home!

Our little Tanner is finally home! Tanner came home on Saturday, July 26 weighing a whopping 6 lbs 3 oz! Sorry it has taken me so long to post the update. Things have been a little busy! Tanner ended up having to have the blood transfusion (his red blood cell count dropped even lower) and that gave him the boost that he needed. Within a day his oxygen levels were up, he had a lot more color in his face and he had enough energy to eat.

Here's Tanner's first adventure out in the real world!

Tanner's first nap in his bed.

The boys!

Aubrey, Brock and Carter love their new little brother! They love to hold him and try to soothe him when he cries. Aaron and I are amazed at how well they are taking the change in our lives. It's almost like Tanner has always been with us. They, of course, are used to sharing our attention, so maybe that helps. Life is busy, but I think we're doing really well!
