Rough Week Part II

I forgot to mention that our water heater wasn't working the night we got home from our trip. Aaron tried to light the pilot light, but it wouldn't stay lit. The next morning I called a repairman and luckily we just needed a new thermal coupler (whatever that is) instead of having to replace our whole heater. Just in case this ever happens to any of you ... there are companies out there that will replace your thermal coupler for around $100. DO NOT pay much more than that for it! I, of course, had to learn this lesson the hard way.

Rough Week!

Aaron and I took the kids up to Rigby to Grandpa Brad and Grandma Laurie's new house for the long Memorial weekend. We had so much fun and I'm excited to post some pictures, but it may have to wait till next week! We played so hard everyday and by the time we came home, we were exhausted and started getting sick. Brock started getting sick while we were there, but it seemed like his allergies were just acting up. The day after we came home, he woke up from his nap screaming, so I ran him to the doctor and found that he had an earache in both ears. Poor kid! On Wednesday, we had to take him up to Primary Children's Hospital for minor surgery (nothing to do with his ears). He started to feel a lot better, but then Carter got a fever and a really bad cold and is still trying to kick it. Having sick kids is so exhausting! I haven't even finished unpacking everything from our trip. I guess it's true ... You Play, You Pay!

The Big 2-9!

Yesterday was my 29th Birthday and boy am I feeling a year older today! We had quite the busy birthday! We played all day! (Even though they sang me Happy Birthday, I'm pretty sure the kids thought it was their big day! :-)

It was 90 degrees so we decided to go to the splash park for a picnic. Unfortunately the city hasn't turned the water on yet, but we still played on the toys and ate lunch. Poor Tanner was pooped!

Aaron came home from work early and we went out to dinner and then to Boondocks to play some put-put. The kids loved hitting the ball every now and then and throwing rocks in the water.

Tanner gave me lots of birthday loves!

Then we went home to open presents and eat my Super Moist Chocolate Bundt Cake. Aaron and the kids spoiled me as usual! He felt bad that I made my own cake, but I reassured him that it gave me the excuse to try this new recipe and use my new bundt pan that he gave me for Mother's Day. The recipe comes from my cousins' cooking blogs, My Kitchen Cafe and The Sister's Cafe. So delicious!

Thanks for all the gifts, phone calls and birthday wishes from all my family and friends. It was a wonderful day!

Totally Humbled!

So the other day after I had just finished working out (and feeling pretty good), my sweet little Carter walks in the room, takes one look at me and says:
"Mom, your bum doesn't fit in your work out pants."
Mom: "Really?"
Carter: "No, it's too big."
And he walks out of the room just as content as can be.
Thank you, kids, for always keeping me humble!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms and moms to be out there! I'm so grateful for my wonderful Mom and Mother-in-law! They do so many wonderful things for my family. Thank you! I love you!

This morning when I went to get Tanner out of bed, he sat straight up, gave me a big smile and said, ma ma ma. He has said it before and it may have just been a coincidence, but it still totally made my day! I love you Aubrey, Brock, Carter and Tanner. Thanks for being so sweet to me today (and everyday, of course!)

Sony Ericsson Open

Aaron and I got off our cruise on Friday morning and headed straight over to Key Biscayne, FL for the Sony Ericsson Open. It was our lucky day! Not only was it the Semifinals our free day in Miami, but it just so happened that the matchup was Rodger Federer (#2) vs. Novak Djokovic (#3)! Aaron and I love watching tennis so this was a fun opportunity for us!

Soaking up the sun and sipping on frozen lemonade! I'm so spoiled!

Federer leaving the stadium after a tough loss. :-( What a classy guy! We still love you Rodger!

Carnival Imagination

Aaron and I had the chance to go on a 4-night cruise to Key West and Cozumel on the Carnival Imagination. Needless to say, we had a blast!

Can I just say I love cruising!
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Hobson (and Rachel and Tyler, of course) for taking such good care of our kids!

WE'RE BACK!

So now that it has been almost 6 months since my last post, I figured I'd better get my rear in gear! I mean, it's not that I'm very busy or anything. I'm not exactly sure what happened to all my "spare" time!

One of my biggest time consumers (and greatest accomplishments) has been potty training triplets. I honestly can't believe how much time I've spent in the bathroom lately. They were actually really easy to potty train, but I still make sure I'm around when they need to go. I've got the boys trained to wipe up the toilet each time! Yes! A little OCD, I know, but you wouldn't believe how much time it saves! I don't feel like I have to clean their bathroom every single day.

Another big time consumer (and greatest joys) is Tanner! He doesn't sleep nearly as much as he used to and is the BIGGEST mama's boy. I can't even leave the room for few seconds before he'll bust into tears, even if Aaron's in the room. It's fun having him love me so much, but it makes getting things done that much harder. His first tooth finally cut through today and he's been scooting/crawling around everywhere. He thinks he's a pretty big boy and loves playing with the kids. Nobody can make him laugh harder than Carter can!

We've all been healthy, happy and very busy! We're going to try to be better about blogging, but no promises!
